Με βάση την ανάλυση ελάχιστα γνωστών αρχειακών πηγών και δημοσιευμένων δεδομένων, η παρούσα εργασία ανιχνεύει την ύπαρξη διασυνδέσεων και παραμονής μελών των Αθωνικών μονών στα ουκρανικά εδάφη τον 18ο αιώνα. Ο κύριος σκοπός είναι να αναλυθούν οι κατευθύνσεις, οι μορφές και οι αιτίες τέτοιων συνδέσεων κατά τη διάρκεια της εποχής Hetmanshchyna. Η ανάλυση των αρχειακών και δημοσιευμένων εγγράφων αποκαλύπτει τις ελάχιστα γνωστές πτυχές της θεμελιώδους υποστήριξης των Ουκρανών Κοζάκων στα αθωνικά μοναστήρια και, ειδικότερα, των ταξιδιών των Αθωνιτών μοναχών στα ουκρανικά εδάφη. Κατά την περίοδο του Χετμανάτου, οι συνδέσεις με τον Άθωνα στα ουκρανικά εδάφη ήταν σε υψηλό επίπεδο. Οι Ουκρανοί ηγέτες Κοζάκων θεώρησαν τη συμμετοχή τους στην υποστήριξη των μονών του Άθω ως απαραίτητο χαρακτηριστικό της ελίτ τους. Το άρθρο τονίζει ότι οι δεσμοί μεταξύ των Ουκρανών και των μοναχών του Άθω τον 18ο αιώνα είχαν πολλές διαφορετικές μορφές και λόγους, τους οποίους ο συγγραφέας κατατάσσει συμβατικά σε πέντε κατηγορίες. Η έρευνα που διεξήχθη αποκάλυψε δεσμούς μεταξύ του Αγίου Όρους και της δημοτικότητάς του μεταξύ των ουκρανικών μοναστικών και Κοζάκων κοινοτήτων τον 18ο αιώνα, διασφαλίζοντας αμοιβαία πνευματική και πολιτιστική ανταλλαγή. Οι συχνές επισκέψεις στο Κίεβο ανατολικών ιεραρχών, ιερέων και μοναχών από τους Αγίους Τόπους και το Άγιο Όρος βοήθησαν να επιβεβαιωθεί στη συνείδηση των Ουκρανών η σημασία του Κιέβου ως "ιερή πόλη", το πνευματικό και πολιτιστικό κέντρο του ανατολικού χριστιανισμού.
Shumylo S. V. Connections and stay of the representatives of the athonite monasteries in Ukrainian lands in the 18th century.
Based on the analysis of little-known archival sources and published data this paper traces the existence of connections and stay of the members of the Athonite monasteries at the Ukrainian lands in the XVIII century. The main purpose is to analyse the directions, forms, and causes of such connections during the Hetmanshchyna epoch. The analysis of archival and published documents reveals the little-known aspects of the Ukrainian Cossacks’ foundational support of the Athonite monasteries and, in particular, the travels of the Athonite monks to the Ukrainian lands. During the Hetmanshchyna period, connections with Athos in the Ukrainian lands were at a high level. Ukrainian Cossack leaders viewed their participation in the support of the Athos monasteries as a necessary attribute of their elite status. The article stresses that the links between the Ukrainian and the Athos monks in the 18th century had several different forms and reasons, which the author conventionally classifies into five categories. The research conducted revealed links between Mount Athos and its popularity among Ukrainian monastic and Cossack communities in the 18th century, ensuring mutual spiritual and cultural exchange. The frequent visits to Kyiv of eastern hierarchs, priests, and monks from the Holy Land and Holy Mount Athos helped to affirm in the minds of Ukrainians the importance of Kyiv as a «holy city», the spiritual and cultural centre of eastern Christianity.
