Η ομάδα των βυζαντινών και μεταβυζαντινών αφιερωματικών επιγραφών στον Άθω αποτελεί την πλειονότητα του επιγραφικού υλικού. Στην εργασία εξετάζονται ορισμένα αντιπροσωπευτικά παραδείγματα που χρονολογούνται από τον 10ο έως τον 16ο αιώνα, προκειμένου να υπογραμμιστούν ορισμένες πτυχές της αφιερωματικής δραστηριότητας κατά τη βυζαντινή εποχή και την πρώιμη οθωμανική περίοδο. Οι εξεταζόμενες επιγραφές θα ενταχθούν στο ιστορικό πλαίσιο, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τις γραπτές πηγές και τα αρχαιολογικά δεδομένα.
The group of the Byzantine and post-Byzantine dedicatory inscriptions on Athos is the majority of the epigraphic material. In the paper are discussed some representative examples dated from the 10th until to the 16th century in order to underline some aspects of the dedicatory activity in the Byzantine era and in the early Ottomanperiod. The inscriptions under consideration will be incorporated in the historical framework, taking into account the written sources and the archaeological data.
