Summary
Theocharidis Ploutarchos, Archeological documentation during consolidation works carried out on parts of building complexes of unknown building history. The case of the kitchen of the monastery of Dochiariou on Mount Athos
This study consists of two parts. The first part deals with the determination of the meaning of archeological documentation covering the historical buildings or ruins. It emphasises especially the importance of such documentation when consolidation works are carried out in specific parts of building complexes in which it is not possible, for several reasons,to make acompletearcheological study of the complex as a whole. For this purpose, this study attempts to outline the process and the problems of such a complete archeological study of a historical building. In the second part a relevant intervention is reported, carried out in the kitchen of the Monastery of Dochiariou by the 10th Ephoria for Byzantine Antiquities.
