Mitić Aleksandar, Former three Serbian Monasteries in the Holy Mountain Athos. The Serbian Cultural Heritage.
In the article we analyze the presence of Serbian monks in three monasteries of Holy Mountain Athos: St. Panteleimon, St. Paul and Kastamonite monastery, over a long period of almost four cen¬turies, from the mid/14th to the mid-18th century. In first we show briefly the merits of Serbian medi¬eval dynasties in reconstruction and construction of these monasteries, after their impoverishment or abandonment, which happened under various circumstances. We are also trying to discover reason for the abandonment of these Monasteries by Serbs and the overthrow under the authority of the Greeks.
