The paper deals with a resumed study of the material, discovered, listed and recorded during the Georgian expedition in the lviron Monastery on Mount Athos in 1979-1983. It touches upon the New Testament, donated to the lviron Monastery by the Catholicos of Abkhazia, Ekvtime II Saqvarelidze (1578 - 1616), adorned with miniatures and chased silver case gilt with gold. The cover has preserved a number of unique images and inscriptions. The images of the "Portaitisa" icon, the donor and of the holy fathers of Athos add significance to the case of a historical fine arts document. The ornamental motif and other features of the decor point to its undoubted Georgian provenance, while its iconographic features attest to the viability of the legacy of post-Byzantine art in Georgian goldsmithing.
